Dear Boys and Girls
Finally Basketball season started and preseason is now over for about 2 weeks...
O yes we are all very excited, because this is going to be a big year... I finally made it and am realizing one of my dreams...who has ever thought I could make it? Be honest, two years ago, no one saw me here...not as a walk on, not being able to practice, and I am honest too! I never thought this was real...but all has come true...Hard working last season, and I still have a lot of work to do, but they are all really helpful and I know that this is a wonderful experience...so have fun this whole year! It's gonna be a lot of fun...
Team practice started two weeks ago, and as most of you know already...there's a lot of work to do, be 15 mins early for stretching, be another 15 mins early for shooting.. cause you're supposed to make your shots when practice begins... (this is always true, if you have class and it is impossible most of the players stay after practice to put some extra shooting in)
Freetime? No not a lot... exams, school, practice, weights, film, go over sth with a coach, but the time you got, you use to eat sleep and talk to your friends and mates in your hall!
Today was our first scrimmage against Butler and guess what? ;) (I played more than in my last national team games haha...well yes that was not hard, but here I was told that usually walk-ons don't play so I was prepared for that and was lucky and happy to see the court for 2-3 mins) Well yes we played 5 quarters... but I was supposed to get in in the fourth quarter but that was the only one my team lost, so I saw the court in the fifth quarter but still better than nothing and I mean I joined practice late this year, so 2morrow I got the gym all for myself as we have off but someone's going to practice! ;)
A lot of work, but lots of fun too, and it helps you to stay focussed and organized ;)

The locker room has a lot of nice features... started with our we believe over our door ;) (and yes we have to believe because just if you believe you can achieve...)

















Everyone has his own little spot as seen on this pic, which is also very nice...so no battling about whose place is where... and whose clothes are lying around...Now ;) the biggest feature... this huge tv screen... ehm yes at first I thought we were going to watch film (scouting) on that big screen, but till now, we only watched tv, or listened to music... and the film was watched in one of the coaches offices...as everyone has a TV...( I finally found out as they are now moving in into their new (old) offices)











Our nice chairs... to watch TV... and our little chill area ;) (when I showed some of my friends from here these pictures they were also amazed...so I believe no one really knows what the student athletes advantages are... except from the fact that they do our sports laundry)
Here our faboulous Redhawk... He's in the carpet and I just love him! GO REDHAWKS!!!
So well yes hopefully I could show you a little bit what my new life looks...hopefully you'll have time to stop by sometime and I can show you some more stuff... well yes I have to be crazy to talk about this about basketball...but you know that I've always been crazy about it and someday it is all over, so I have to profit as long as it is still there! Hoop Phi 4 Life

Dear Friends
I am sorry that I haven't updated the blog for nearly a month now...it seems that I get lazy, even if I don't want to. But well yes, it might not only be me, it might be the practice, and the classes I had a lot of exams coming up, but now they are all done, and surely as always papers due... my next one is due on tuesday and I get my Midterm handed out on Monday, and that one is due on wednesday!But yes... Let me explain the title for you... As I've been practicing now nearly for a month with the team, I can say that I am a proud member of the hoop phi hoop sorority :D (haha) And well yes we usually have a lot of fun, except when we need to do court sprints or something similar, but even those we survived, because as I am sitting here today, we survived preaseason ;)
Let me introduce some of my team members... the first pic is one where we went on a haunted trail in middletown, from left to right, chanell, A2daJ, (Me aka LUX), Hawk, Michelle (ozzi), and last but not least Brown.
The haunted trail was a lot of fun and we got scared, brown was the runner, I got scared out of my mind, and michelle nearly pead her pants, we had a good time ;)

Next Picture is our whole crew again, well yes the picture might not be that great but that was the group, that survived the middletown haunted trail! AH YEAH









The following to pictures, took place at Steph's (Fordi) place, she had us all over for dinner, it was just great! THX Kris and Steph that you cooked all day long for us, we just enjoyed it. We were all tired as you can see ;)
While Kris and Steph were cooking, they us carve the pumpkins and made a contest out of it...my first pumpkin carving contest ever...well we did not win...true but someone srewed up our top so we couldn't win, and even though we did not win, courtney, hawk and I had a lot of fun, getting our thing done ;)




























Some more pictures of the team, the first one was at my first football game ever and it was as one can see, white out, all dressed in white and had lots of fun, unfortunatly I got sunburned, but that is all forgotten right now again ;)

Dear Folks,
Another week is approaching the end, and yes the week was pretty full with lots of work, but yes, I saw president hodge, and I was even allowed to take a picture... we were all very excited about that fact ;) The french girls couldn't sleep because they wanted the picture :D We thought we would get real food, but we've only got cookies and drinks... (lemonade, coffee and iced tea... ) But well yes I don't know how long he stood there to make all these picutres!!! Well yes he's the president of our school...
Next week, upcoming exam in ECO 301, Quiz in BOT 131 and in MUS 189... so enough to work for this weekend... o well yes, I forgot WMS 201 paper due on monday...

Hope you're all doing well we had a great start off and this weekend we're having our first home game of the miami football team so I'm going to the tailgate tomorrow morning at 10 am, and the game is at noon, everyone has to be dressed in withe, and the first 1500 students will get a free t-shirt so, lets see if I am early enough to get a shirt ^^

I know I should work but NO I don't want to!

Hey guys

Hope you're all doing well and life is treating you well... I actually have a lot of work to do, but I am not willing to this right now... I've been working, got back at midnight yesterday, because I was writing my petition with larissa, ate pizza and mac&cheese, well yes lot's of fun and found out that petitions suck... ;)
I actually just wanted to post some pictures, so you can see with whom I'm hanging out... ;)

second week of school

Hey Guys

Second week of school is done, and we got enough homework to do, but we had labour day weekend so we were all fine. It was a great weekend for everyone who wasn't sick... But I got lucky and was sick the whole weekend with fever, headaches, throat hurts and whatever one wants... I am not sure, why everything is underlined and I can't find the button to switch it off sorry bout that.
I stayed the last two days in Clawson didn't leave it, just went to alexander to get food, so I did not have to leave the complex, as my hots and colds are killing me... But it got a lot better already today so no worries Michele is gettin better and better.
My early class for tomorrow morning got cancelled too, so I only got one class tomorrow afternoon, from 3:30 till 4:45 lucky me ;)
The funniest story of the weekend was that vinnie got handcuffed to a chair by wenz :D the whole dorm found it funny except vinnie... but the police had to come, because they couldn't open the handcuffs... Wenz did wear them before, and got rid of them, but Vinnie didn't so MUPD had to come to free vinnie... They found it really funny because they thought, they would find him nacked or something similar because it were sexhandcuffs...but he was all dressed up, so they just laughed when they came in and saw him...
The saddest story of the weekend is that Jeremy got hit by a car, and his shoulder is really bad, I only heard of this today as it happend yesterday and I couldn't go out, so Sean told me today. It doesn't look good at all and maybe he has to go home, to get his shoulder fixed in an operation.
My weekend consisted of homework, writing a paper and hanging out in clawson... Not many people were there actually, because of the labour day weekend and everyone went home to visit friends and family... How did the lady in Alexander ask me... do you live to far away from home to go home this weekend? (well if I was able to beam, I had the chance to go home, but otherwise not...) She was maybe pissed, that she needed to work, and everyone else got off...but well yes...some of us are internationals and don't have the possibility of going home for 3 days!
As I was sick and couldn't go out on the weekend, I watched movies with wenz, izzy, carmen, vinnie, suryah and yesterday even alska (Aka Xan) joined us. We watched love actually (the best movie ever) and we watched nacho libre... well I didn't get everything of that one caus I fell a sleep...
My roomie didn't go home, but her parents visited on saturday, so she was gone all day long and I had the whole room for myself... ;) (I thought she wouldn't return but... unfortunatly she did... haha)

The pictures I put into this blog are of Martin's house, where we usually have our warm up parties, and where we return after the clubs close... He made those funny signs, I just love them :D And the ballons and all that kind of stuff...was still there from Larissas surprise party....so they lived a whole week with that nice decoration we made ;)
All in all it was an OK week and weekend, a lot of work, sicknees not much going out... but I am still alive... next week I got my first quizzes coming up, and I got my first paper peer review...well I am really locking forward too it...but I still think that there is a lot of work to do.... another paper in botany discussion curse due... it is just so much readin but... how did Dani say... Michele is turning into a nerd... hehe hopefully it helps passing my exams ;)

first week of school

Hey Guys
After a week of no update I wanted to apologize for that, and tell you that I've had a hard week, a lot of new stuff to learn, lot of assignments and readings, it just sucked let me tell you that...I've read about more then 200 pages in just one week, if it continues like that I wont have any time to be bored!
I am still runnin round because of my transfer credits, and this week it has again been hot as hell, 105° it just sucked, they even send mails out, that we can go and spend the night at the REC, because that one is airconditionned. It was a crazy week, they gave us water everywhere around campus, for free. So it was really hot.
My classes are ok so far, just a lot to do, that sucks, but welcome to an american college I would say ;) The only thing that's not so cool, is that I have 4 classes with freshmen and only a lot of freshmen live on campus, so it is very hard to find someone who's my age, but well the exchange and internationals are mostly over 21 so that's fine, but I wanna meet some americans too ;)
Well yes here we go with some party pics from the weekend! It was an awesome weekend to party, and we've had a lot of fun, except that you were just drippin, after one dance, but well yes, let's get used to it, it's just hot a lot of pple and everyone loves to dance ;) it is just really cool! Saturday Larissa had her birthday and she turned 21, it was great fun, because Sean had organized a little suprise party for her, so it was really lots of fun! ;) She didn't know at all so it was pretty funny when she arrived at martins house ;) I can't see anything... ;) We were having
a lot of fun and well yes I got home late every night, and my roomie was already a sleep, but I guess she's fine with it, because she didn't say a word about it! :)

Finally I wanted to show you how my bathroom looks like, it's a little special and some of you wouldn't want to use it, but it's ok, except on a sunday, when the housing stuff was gone for the week-end... And I got my flipflops to shower so I'm fine, that's what Germany learned me, always take your flipflops for the bathroom, or the shower, because some Gyms didn't have so nice floors.
Well yes I have some readin to do, so I hope you're all doing well, THX for your comments so far Laure and Dani ;) It's always nice to see what everyone thinks about ;)

MU Block Party & Room

Hey Guys...
Yesterday Emily moved in, and I could finally arrange all my staff, following you'll see some pictures how the room looks now, it's a little better now than it was before, I still haven't got any posters, but that will hopefully come soon. At least I got my pictures, next to my bed, so I can always have a look at them when it's necessary.
The picture right above shoes my bed, the blanket is not on the bed yet, because it is just so hot, so for the moment I'm just sleeping with sheets ;) which is really enough :D
Here we go with my desk, which is cool and I finally got a network cable so my internet works... So I'm not on and off the line in just 5 minutes, don't worry guys!





Right next to here, we have our closets...Mine is the left one, Emily's is the right one. all the other stuff on the picture belongs to Emily!



The next pic shows her bed...everything looks not as messy as my stuff, but I am sorry I don't wanna clean...

















Here we go with Emilys desk and her small TV, which ohne is not so much for myself, but well I don't need one to be honest, as I think I got so many stuff to do, that there is not much time left for TV.
She hasn't got a Laptop, so she's most of the time sittin in front of her Computer...





Here we go with our MU Block party, another event with free food, for the First Year students, well it was kind of nice and we love cornwhole... ;) We tried to play american football, but we still don't give the Ball the right spinn it's just too hard for us..But Martin has got the skills, kind of but he's our physical education man so he'll get it pretty soon ;)

Frat Party

So dear guys the first Frat Party has made his way into my life...actually it wasn't that good... You will get free beer, which is Naturally Light, and it is just now good! I couldn't drink it at all...
And yes, only the freshmen, and sophomores were here yesterday evening, because upperclassmen only arrive today or tomorrow...
So most of the students aren't 21 yet, but still everyone drinks, because the beer is for free and no one checks if you're 21 or not...so it's your own responsability...
What is kind of funny, is that the whole town celebrates back to school party...because uptown inbetween the frats, were a lot of people ;)
But too young...they look so young and are so young, I am really happy that my roommate is 21...because otherwise I would be dying... haha
Not with a person like sean, but I don't know if there is anyone in this building who gets close to sean :D

What I think is kind of funny too, is the picture right next to this text... "Daddy don't worry, we'll take care of her" it's a little dark, because it was already late night, when I saw it and took the picture butI just wanted to show you guys... ;)



The next Picture, is of Martin and myself ;) We had fun and he will be my motivationt trainer for practise he? because he studies physical education, will be here for a year, as he's an exchange student from the Tcheq Republic!

I am sorry I couldn't update the last days, but I'm quite busy runnin round and gettin stuff settled because of my transfer credits...
And as in today it seems that I might have to stay for three semesters, but we'll see how everything works out!

After Martin and myself a little Picture of Sean, at the free Concert that was held for freshmen, but we left pretty early because there weren't enough people... ;)
well yes it is kind of cool, my roommate moves in today, she kind of woke me up...but that's life I guess ;) I should have gone to bed earlier...
But it is the last week-end before classes start and homework begins, so last week to go out and meet new people ;)

REC and all that stuff

Hey guys...

Yesterday the REC opened... I've never seen a similar thing before!
It is so large and every student can use it for free....(well yes it is included in your tuiton and fees actually...) But yes everyone can use it...
It has a large swimming pool, where we can go everyday and have fun...but that's not everything...the swimming pool has also a hut tub area, where you can go into a whirl pool, and all that kind of stuff...It also has a Waterbasketball rim and ball in that hot tub area...It is really Preatty amazing...







So here we go with some pictures of the swimming pool...where you can really swim and not only "planschen" hehe...As you can see here we also have a jumping tower...but that one was actually still closed yesterday, but I am not such a jumping freak so no problem for me with that...




O well yes and I nearly forgot... we've got more than one beach volleyball court outside...also really cool...(just for the moment it is too hot for anything...
And we have frisbee golf outside (haha) never heard of that before either...it is kind of funny all the stuff we don't have back home...

Here we have our running track...that's actually inside the gym...it is just so amazing!











Here we have my favorite courts...we have 3 basketball courts available...but everyone told me that when the americans arrive, the gym will be so booked...so I really got to take care of that... but I can go there any time I want isn't that amazing... Well it closes at 11 pm but that's ok for me...I am not in need of midnight sports... ;)
Here we have a special Picture... I love it,because I've never seen such a thing before... the campus has it's own Police and it is larger than the oxford police corp... it has 29 person, and the oxford one has 28...(poor Luxembourg) we have 57 police officers, in a really small town... but yeah I think it is kind of a funny thing :D !
